Lifestyles in Transition Inc. is focused upon the delivery of downsizing services for seniors and their families, adults and people with challenges, to help them through life transitions.
Change can be challenging for any of us, no matter what our age or situation. Family or friends often want to help, but sometimes that is just not possible. Adult children may be living at a distance or struggling to balance their parents' needs against their careers and their own family needs. On occasion, seniors have no surviving children, or their children are seniors themselves. Often, close friends are the same age and providing significant help can be a hardship in itself.
Older adults that plan to move frequently face by themselves the daunting task of sorting through belongings and taking decisions about what should be saved, sold or given away. Arranging for all of that can be difficult unless you have the right resources. Next comes the actual move and the process of settling into a new home. Organizational and physical tasks associated with planning and moving can be stressful and are often overwhelming. If illness or death precipitates the move, a family may already be emotionally and physically drained.
A transition may mean relocating closer to your family, moving into a smaller home or a retirement community, or joining an assisted living facility. This can also mean staying in your current home (aging in place) but restructuring. Many seniors have been in their homes for 30 to 40 years or even longer, and frequently wish to remain in their “own place” just as long as they can do so.
Lifestyles in Transition Inc. specializes in assisting seniors and their families, adults and people with challenges to manage the transition process from beginning to end.
